This fantastic ring has been commissioned in 18ct Yellow Gold with a double band design and features a large central piece of original Georgian Carnelian. Atop the Carnelian sits a Memento Mori inspired skull and crossed bones modelled in Silver, which in turn has been set with two sparking old cushion cut Diamonds as eyes.
Memento Mori was a popular concept in Georgian England. Its literal translation is “Remember you will die”, and the pieces contain sombre imagery such as skulls and skeletons. Whilst it may seem a morbid choice, the style was intended to remind people of the brevity of life, and to therefore seize the day and enjoy living.
A wonderful ring which promotes the sentiment of living life to the fullest and will look fantastic when worn.
