An exquisite antique amethyst ring from the early 20th Century bezel set with a wonderful, high-relief intaglio seal carved from a transparent violet amethyst (approx. 3ct).
The Intaglio depicts the profile of a man with a helmet, possibly a Roman legionary or God. It was likely a signature emblem that could be stamped into sealing wax on important documents, or even love letters to a distant sweetheart.
This antique amethyst ring is fashioned in 9ct gold with split shoulders and clear Chester hallmarks within the band, dating to 1915. This antique amethyst ring is highly collectable and in excellent condition.
